Three Types of Swimming Pools and How They Are Installed

How long have you wanted a pool for your home? Have you determined the size and shape that you are most interested in? What about the filtration system? There are many considerations to think about before committing to a pool installation. However, most of those choices will surround the type of installation you want for your home. There are three standard options when it comes to pool selection and installation methods.

Above-Ground

The first option is an above-ground pool. These pools are the most affordable when it comes to pool ownership. However, they are not necessarily the most durable options available, but durability tends to have more to do with the material choice and upkeep. For example, you can buy a vinyl above ground pool for a few hundred dollars, but it will not last as long as a metal option. It is also necessary to note that homeowners can typically save money on installation with above-ground options too.

In-Ground

In-ground pools are typically the most expensive options when it comes to pool installation because of the labor and materials required. These pools will require excavation of your property. Most standard choices will use a fiberglass shell that is created off-site and then dropped into the hole. Depending on the depth and layout of the pool, you will typically require further excavation for plumbing and other equipment connections.

Gunite

Gunite pools are often considered the most durable in-ground pool construction. When the property is excavated, rebar and plumbing are laid out before being coated in the Gunite compound. Once dry, the material can be covered with fiberglass or tiled over to create a beautiful finish.
